What’s the best way to describe your approach to fashion? How do I feel in that moment, and is it a very confident yet individual look? The one person I always think of when I think of owning their look is Princess Diana. It doesn’t get any better than that for me.
What’s the best style advice you have ever received? When you wear something fierce, own it. If it doesn’t make you feel comfortable, take it off. It’s not for you.
What is your most cherished piece in your closet? My Salvatore Ferragamo pieces that I acquired throughout my life as I evolved in my own style, while in medical school, visiting Italy and after the birth of my son, as they are timeless and will always mark a special time in my life.
Where do you like to shop in Dallas? Elizabeth W has some great pieces that are from all over the world!
What do you not leave home without when you go to the office? Classic pumps on backup; even during a delivery of a baby, I’ve had to show up in heels.

The glamorous philanthropist

What’s your makeup approach? Minimal for everyday (CC cream and mascara). My focus is on good skincare, sun avoidance and SPF, and regular visits to my dermatologist.
When it comes to footwear, what do you prefer? I prefer something funky. I take most of my fashion risks with footwear—masculine Oxfords, overly embellished pumps, colorful boots—the more unexpected, the better.
Where do you like to shop in Dallas? Forty Five Ten, Dior and Ylang 23. If I have too much time on my hands at home, Net-A-Porter, Farfetch and Moda Operandi can be dangerous distractions.
What kind of jewelry do you like? A lot of detail and unusual pieces. I love layering everything, and I’m currently wearing 10 earrings (all Maria Tash). Favorite jewelry designers right now are Retrouvai, Foundrae, Bibi van der Velden and Victoire de Castellane.

Can you describe your approach to makeup? Always late if not absent.
Where do you shop in Dallas? Forty Five Ten for all things special, bold and unconvential, and Tenoversix for cool emerging brands, design magazines and the perfect gift.
What’s your power piece? My chunky black Balenciaga boots. If I were a pair of shoes, it would be them. I don’t think there is anything I can’t wear with them. I first saw them as an intern on the set of a Forty Five Ten shoot. It was a well-spent first paycheck.
What’s the best way to describe your approach to fashion? Make it your own. My style is always a mix from my own brain. I like to play with different textures, colors and shapes to reflect a mix of high and low, the old and new, the jagged and soft, the playful and sensible.
What is the most cherished piece in your closet? I’m always rotating favorite pieces, but if I had to choose, it would be my grandmother’s vintage Chanel. It’s the greatest hand-me-down I’ve ever received.

Nini Nguyen
The edgy fashion stylist

What is your fashion philosophy? Just be yourself because there is only one of you in this universe.
Who are your favorite designers? John Galliano, the late Azzedine Alaïa, Haider Ackermann and Rosie Assoulin.
In regard to jewelry, what do you prefer? I go minimalist for everyday wear and extravagant for evening. I can’t do day or night without my matching pair of green jade bangles from Sue Gragg.
What are your favorite places to shop in Dallas? Forty Five Ten, Carla Martinengo, V.O.D. and Sue Gragg Precious Jewels.
What would you say is your secret weapon when it comes to fashion? To be comfortable, stay with clean lines and be unique. When I’m meeting clients all day, my favorite style is an oversize crisp white cotton shirt, boyfriend jeans and white sneakers or a silk crepe jumpsuit.
