Triple Play

| June 21, 2011 | Parties

The Concept: Promising a “Dramatically Different” collection, the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS delivered in spades. The Modern Luxury Dallas-sponsored evening began traditionally enough at the Hilton Anatole with a silent auction (featuring those fab denim jackets) and a seated dinner. But it was in the third act that the party pushed its way to over-the-top status. The Spectacle: Magnificent sensory overload came in the form of dancing drag queens, a Michael Jackson doppelgänger and enough runway action to make a supermodel blush—all imagined by co-creative directors/producers Brian Brothers and Jan Strimple with event guru Steve Kemble. Haute Topics: New denim jackets to covet included designs from Charlotte Ronson, Richie Sambora, and Nicolas Villalba.
