THE SCORE Composer-rapper-lyricist-actor Lin-Manuel Miranda whipped into the Nasher Sculpture Center, wielding his trademark brand of energetic dynamism, for the first spring NasherSalon. The multihyphenate worked his charm on the crowd in a conversation with Greg Holland, where the duo chatted all things—from his roles in grade-school plays (“every girl had to pretend to be in love with me… I’m clearly doing this the rest of my life,” Miranda recalled) to his Broadway hit, In the Heights. THE FINALE An unorthodox Q-and-A session ended the evening on a memorable note. Miranda put his formidable hip-hip improv skills to work and rapped out rapid-fire responses to written inquiries, accompanied by a Booker T. Washington student beat-boxing the rhythm. Bravo!
