Playing at the top of his game, Scottie Scheffler will hit the links this month at AT&T Byron Nelson. Ladies and gentlemen, please set your scorecard for May 12.
Hot off the heels of securing the coveted green jacket at the Masters Tournament, Dallas native Scottie Scheffler will head back to his hometown for the beloved AT&T Byron Nelson (attbyronnelson.org) golf tournament. As one of the city’s top sports events, this year is especially exciting for fans as the tournament is back in full swing at capacity. A must on the PGA Tour, the weeklong spectacle (May 9 to 15) is more than just a game—it’s the driving force behind Momentous Institute, a nonprofit whose mission is to change the odds for children. Top names in the game summon all sports enthusiasts and golf lovers alike for what will no doubt be an exciting weekend match. Cheer on Dustin Johnson, Tommy Fleetwood and, of course, some of our own local boys including Will Zalatoris, Jordan Spieth and Scheffler. “I’m so excited to be playing back at home at such a special tournament,” shares Scheffler. “It’s great being surrounded by friends and family.” All eyes will be on our favorite players as they take on the course at TPC Craig Ranch. “This tournament has always been much more than a game,” shares tournament chairman Clay Duvall. “We’re excited to support Momentous Institute’s mission to provide family-based mental health services through our new Birdies for Mental Health initiative.” May also happens to serve as Mental Health Awareness Month—talk about a win-win.
