Samuel Lynne Galleries Presents "Lea Fisher: Unexpected Reflection" Opening Reception

| March 25, 2014 | Calendar

Samuel Lynne Galleries is pleased to host an opening artist reception for Reflectionist artist Lea Fisher’s newest exhibit Unexpected Reflection on April 26 from 5 – 8 pm. Artist will be in attendance at the opening reception.
Lea Fisher is one of the premier artists of our time, and is one of the founding artists of the Reflectionist School. Reflectionism is based on a system of artistic thought that abstractly emphasizes the mirroring of energy and human life in the universe. This burgeoning school of artistic thought attempts to express and physically manifest these positive — and otherwise abstract or intangible — forces.
“As a Reflectionist, painting for me is an emotional evolution. I must first have the courage to abandon my self-limiting beliefs and delusions of control with the hope that honest self-expression will represent my unique experience and reflect the shared dynamic of the human condition.” –Lea Fisher
Lea Fisher’s contribution to Reflectionism cannot be understated; her 3D Oil paintings continue to garner recognition throughout the contemporary art world, and her paintings can be found in private collections throughout the country.
Fisher is able to masterfully balance an illusion of mass with light airiness through combinations of thick paint application and delicate feathering. Her dramatic compositions integrate rich and vivid layers with elegant color palettes that captivate the eye and evoke a sense of adventure. Lea’s unique and captivating mastery of color and composition in tandem application on canvas creates an ethereal and volatile juxtaposition, allowing the viewer to analyze its layered abstraction. Fisher’s ultimate goal, however, is to abstractly reflect both her own artist spirit and the collective spirit of humanity.
In Unexpected Reflection, Fisher utilizes her 3D Oil technique of painting, which allows her to build an atmosphere of abstraction by blending sculptural applications of oil paint with explicit placements of line and color. The result of this process will create an unanticipated impression on the viewer, who will be challenged to consider his or her relation to their fellow man and to all things aesthetic. In Lea’s oeuvre, actuality meets ambiguity, objectivity meets subjectivity, and the subconscious meets reality.
Unexpected Reflection will be on exhibit at Samuel Lynne Galleries from April 26 – June 7, 2014.
