Exciting news for food lovers in Dallas, the sleek and futuristic Reunion Tower will soon contain the highly-anticipated steak and seafood restaurant, Crown Block. In partnership with James Beard Award-nominated hospitality veterans (and real-life husband-wife duo) Elizabeth Blau and chef Kim Canteenwalla of Las Vegas-based Blau + Associates, the restaurant will combine world-class cuisine and 360-degree views of the Dallas skyline to present a premium dining experience.
“When looking for the ultimate restaurant partner for Reunion Tower, these two hospitality industry veterans [Blau and Canteenwalla] stood out with more than three decades of global, guest-driven success and experience,” says Chris Kleinert, CEO of Hunt Realty which owns Reunion Tower. “Dining at Crown Block will be unequivocally as iconic as Reunion Tower itself.”
The restaurant will feature high-quality steaks, fresh seafood, and plant-based cuisine, with ingredients sourced from regional farms, local ranches, and the Gulf of Mexico. Its special Rare Steak program will feature Prime beef, Texas Wagyu and Japanese A5 Wagyu, as well as a chilled raw bar, freshly rolled sushi, and a pastry-chef stacked dessert bar. The beverage menu will feature a loaded wine menu and a list of carefully-crafted cocktails.
“Kim and I discovered our love of Dallas and instantly felt welcome with the world-famous Texas hospitality,” says Blau. “We are excited to bring our longstanding philosophy drawing from the culture, landscape, and culinary traditions of the region to partner with the Hunt family on this exciting new endeavor for the city.”
Crown Block will also offer an event space on the 17th floor of Reunion Tower that can hold up to 175 seated guests, or 250 standing guests. The tower itself stands nearly 600 feet tall and was opened on April 15, 1978, by Ray Hunt. The iconic structure has been a Dallas landmark since its construction. Following in his grandfather’s footsteps, Reunion Tower is now helmed by Tyler Kleinert.
“From the start, identifying the perfect restaurant partner for Reunion Tower was essential,” Tyler Kleinert, says. “We take great pride that Reunion Tower has served as Dallas’ top destination for milestone events and celebrations spanning six decades. Crown Block will continue to invite the community, residents and tourists alike, to gather and celebrate, living up to and exceeding my Grandfather’s original vision. The overall experience that Elizabeth, Kim and their Crown Block team are going to deliver will ensure Reunion Tower’s legacy and strong connection with the city continues for years to come.”
Crown Block is set to open at Reunion Tower in spring of 2023.
