“I’m having something called a ‘mule,’ and I highly recommend it,” quipped Junior League of Dallas President Susan Wells at Uptown’s newest hot spot, Primebar. Some 200 Leaguers and their plus-ones, like Elizabeth and Eric Gambrell and Lauren and Scott Maggard, celebrated the posh opening of the hip restaurant. There wasn’t a dry glass in the house, as hostesses were at the ready with trays of abundant libations paired with apps like shrimp bruschetta, roasted red pepper hummus, steak quesadillas, seared tuna tacos and lime-marinated chicken skewers. Primebar owners Roger Greenfield and Ted Kasemir chose local manager-about-town Matthew Ellis to run the place, which opened just in time for Texas-OU fans to mob their spacious patio.
