Celebrating a fast-paced, urban, and active lifestyle, Pip Edwards of Sydney, Australia brings some Aussie inspiration to Dallas through her activewear brand, P.E. Nation.
Pip Edwards, Co-Founder and Creative Director of P.E. Nation
Pip Edwards’ career history—PR and Design for Ksubi and Senior Creative and Accessories Designer at sass & bide—is what led her to co-create P.E. Nation with one of her best friends, Claire Tregoning. Launched in March 2016, their mission was to create a line with quality design and construction, while staying fashion forward and providing comfort and confidence. Based in Bondi Beach, Sydney, this streets-meets-sportswear brand is gaining traction in Dallas with the help of Bandier in Highland Park Village.
The way Edwards describes the brand is one that “blurs the lines between active, fashion, and lifestyle apparel.” She says, “from performance activewear, to streetwear, to fashion pieces, and now denim, we know how to intertwine all the categories so that P.E. Nation is the only solution to get you through your day. When Claire [Tregoning] and I came up with the premise that P.E. Nation is for all day, every day, and for every woman, we really meant it…we want [all women] to feel included in our mission to shape the way you live.” Edwards’ vision is centered around having the brand as the “go-to cornerstone of your wardrobe,” whether that means a trusty black staple, or something with a little more personality. She wants women to know that they can have style with “chic simplicity and functionality,” while staying comfortable and know they’re getting the performance support they need.
When Edwards wanted to expand beyond the coastal cities, she was drawn specifically to the Lone Star State. “Not only is Dallas halfway between LA and NYC, but we have a great following of fit, healthy, and fashion conscious women in Texas who love the brand,” says Edwards. Alex Hansen, manager at Bandier in Highland Park Village, says the brand is a client favorite: “It does extremely well for us. All ages love it, whether they’re high school girls or 60-year-old women. It just has that cool girl vibe while also being sporty.”
Dallas women’s style has a wide variety, but it’s a direct result of the confident, fashion forward women who live here. When asked how she believes the brand influences their style, she says with assurance, “it encourages you to live your best active life in style and comfort.” The brand is heavily influenced by the Australian lifestyle of being outdoors, being active, and being coastal. The relaxed vibe it has is all about comfort also having a unique twist on style.
The future of P.E. Nation is strong, as it will continue to grow within the United States. She hopes that with the Texas market well underway, the exposure and expansion of P.E. Nation will continue to increase into Middle America. “We are really targeting the States next year in a greater way, diving in deep into certain demographics where we know our product performs well.” Edwards encourages women to “join the nation, to feel that warm welcome, to come on the journey with us, and never look back.” Bandier, 8A Highland Park Village, 214.559.9124, bandier.com
