On July 7 owner of the Las Vegas Raiders Mark Davis announced the indictment of Sandra Douglass Morgan as the new president of the Las Vegas Raiders. Morgan shatters ceilings for both women and people of color with such a historical moment as she is the first black woman to hold such an esteemed position in the entire history of the NFL. Not only does she excel in defying stereotypes with her new position but she also has served as the first ever African-American chair member of the Nevada Gaming Control Board and the first African-American City Attorney for the City of North Las Vegas.
Morgan was also a litigation attorney in the international gaming and hospitality industry and Commissioner on the Nevada State Athletic Commission. She also managed the government and community matters of AT&T in the state of Nevada and has additional varied leadership roles that have prepared her to take on the responsibility of leading the Raiders team and brand to success as president.
She is the recipient of countless awards including Distinguished Service Alumni award from UNLV Boyd School of Law and Attorney of the Year award from the Las Vegas Chapter of the National Bar Association, National Urban League Young Professionals Corporate to Community Connector Award and many others. While she is helping neglected children through philanthropy, racking up her endless awards and spearheading the city and the country through her many high profile positions, Morgan is also a mother of two and wife.

“It is the honor of a lifetime to join the Raiders at one of the most defining times in the team’s history…This team’s arrival in Las Vegas has created a new energy and opportunities,” shares Morgan. “I look forward to taking this team’s integrity, spirit and commitment to excellence on the field into every facet of this organization.”
The team is just as delighted to welcome Morgan to the Las Vegas Raiders. Owner of the team Davis expresses, "I am thrilled that Sandra has agreed to join the Raiders family...Her experience, integrity and passion for this community will be invaluable to our organization...We are extremely lucky to have her." As a native of Las Vegas and with such impactful involvement in the affairs of the city, Morgan has indeed displayed passion for her community that she now offers to the Raiders.
Morgan's occupation of the president position marks a tremendous step for accomplished minorities' access to substantial leadership roles. Her long-time efforts and dedication over the past 20 years to building her career and scope of influence have paved the way for such a remarkable opportunity. Making grand decisions is nothing new to Morgan and we look forward to seeing her on the team and involved in the NFL affairs.
