This year, Craighead Green Gallery invited Lollie Tompkins, Visual Arts Coordinator, Booker T. Washington High School For The Performing and Visual Arts, to be the guest juror for the 19th annual New Texas Talent program. Tomkins was presented the challenge of reviewing over 1000 entries.
Tompkins selected more than 50 pieces of art for the exhibit this year. Craighead Green also selected several "Gallery Picks;" four artists this year. All artists reside in Texas, span an age range of 18 to over 70, and their works are in all mediums including photography, sculpture, painting, prints and mixed medium constructions.
Check out the this show, which proves the incredible evidence of the regional talent in Texas. The opening reception with Tompkins is Saturday, Aug. 4 from 5PM-8PM.
