Dress for Success Dallas is proud to announce its third-annual fashion show fundraiser, Light the Runway, to take place on Friday, May 15, 2014. The event, produced by Harriet Kelly Gibbe, includes a cocktail reception and father-daughter fashion show. Several father-daughter pairs will strut down the runway, alongside professional and celebrity models, to raise proceeds for Dress for Success Dallas’ local women’s programs. The event will take place at the Faye Briggs home, located at 5909 Desco Lane, Dallas, Texas 75225.
Janet Fresquez, the 2014 Light the Runway event chair, was inspired by Faye’s beautiful estate to throw a grand party. Striving to make it more unique and fun, she added a twist of the Garden Party Rock event theme. “Expect a few surprises!” says Janet.
Notable models for the father-daughter presentation include: Brian Geyer, Dr. Mark Deuber, Grant Kipp, Jo Ho, DFW Style Daily Editor-in-Chief Lisa Petty, Matt Gallagher, Rich Emberlin, Rick and Rachel Fresquez, former NFL Cowboy Ryan Neufeld, Stubbs Davis, Teffy Jacobs, Tony Casillas and Vaughn Miller. Scott Murray and former Sports Director and Anchor at NBC 5. D’Andra Simmons, philanthropist and CEO of Dallas-based skin care line Hard Night Good Morning, will emcee the evening’s festivities.
Dress for Success Dallas is also excited to award one deserving client the first-ever KatyDid Award of Achievement, in honor of one Katy Messersmith, founder of KatyDid Collections and one of the organization’s top supporters. This award will recognize one client who has transformed her life through the programs and opportunities offered by Dress for Success. The award consists of a package including health, beauty and skin care gift certificates, a $1,000 clothing allowance from the Dress for Success boutique and a photography session for career head shots with local fashion photographer Vera Crosby.
