Life Changers!

| March 30, 2012 | Parties

THE PARTY From Wisteria Lane to Dallas… to The Goss-Michael Foundation? Actor Jesse Metcalfe may have recently been hanging out at Southfork Ranch for the reboot of the iconic TV series, but he left “Christopher Ewing” behind to make a special appearance at The UNICEF Experience. He joined hundreds of fellow supporters at the contemporary art gallery for the United Nations Children’s Fund’s premiere fundraiser in the DFW area. THE PURPOSE Chaired by Joyce Goss with honorary chair Jenna Bush Hager, the evening was an enlightening one and one-of-a-kind. An interactive exhibition showcased UNICEF’s innovative programs and lifesaving work through photos, text and inspiring stories, not to mention simulated water buckets as heavy as those carried by women and children in the developing world, a “wishing well” in support of global water and sanitation initiatives, a UNICEF tent, school-in-a-box kits and more. THE PEOPLE Bedecked in their cocktail best, the crowd wove through the engaging displays as Robert Thompson, senior vice president of development at the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, addressed the importance of the organization and thanked guests, who included event committee members Jim and Jill Cochran, Kenny Goss, Faisal Halum and Lynn and Allan McBee.
