Ladies Who Lanvin

| October 4, 2012 | Parties

THE PREMISE Friends such as newlywed Donna Brittingham, glowing as she discussed her Aspen nuptials; Brian Bolke and Niven Morgan, both sporting grosgrain rosette buttonhole pins by featured designer Lanvin; Kathleen Hutchinson, always the good sport as she laughed about a last-minute run-in with her iron that branded her knit dress; Cindy Rachofsky, ever the trouper, who had just landed in town the night before and hadn’t worn heels all summer in Napa; Tanya Smith Foster, in a red Diane von Furstenberg dress so stunning she had the Lanvin team in hot pursuit; Olivia Kearney, Sue Gragg, Muffin Lemak and others all raising a glass of Cristal Champagne to the fab 10—Pat McEvoy, Tricia Besing, Lynn McBee, Nancy Carlson, Kim Miller, Ashley Tripplehorn Hunt, Nancy Carter, Dee Dee Lee, Pam Perella and Hall of Fame honoree Lana Andrews. THE PLAY-BY PLAY NM General Manager Shelle Sills took to the stage to welcome Lanvin CEO Thierry Andretta, fresh from Paris, and announce that longtime supporters Annette and Harold Simmons donated $1 million, for the sixth time. Two Our Lady of Perpetual Help students presented a beaming Annette with a bouquet bigger than they were as the crowd cheered. Then came the fĂȘted ones, as honorary luncheon chair Gene Jones, fresh from a Cowboys win against the Giants the night before, strutted down the runway in Lanvin, natch. Once the lights on the chandelier-ornamented runway were dimmed and the music started, models hit the stage in fall 2012’s curve-enhancing peplums, beaded sheaths, flared skirts, rich furs and leathers. And if that wasn’t enough, the preview of Lanvin resort 2013 featured an array of dreamy numbers that veered everywhere from bright and unstructured to tight and tech-y fabric, all topped with layers of baubles and bags.THE PRESENT After the lights went up, ladies led the way to lunch, where the floor was abuzz with gossip, laughter and the clinking of Champagne flutes—the generous Mrs. Rogers sent a congratulatory bottle of that Cristal to each of the honoree’s tables. Cheers, indeed! Photography by Daniel Driensky and Dana Driensky
