Hearts of Gold

| April 1, 2014 | Parties National

The Party
Luncheon chair Carmaleta Whiteley and honorary chairs Jan Miller and Jeff Rich welcomed guests to the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, toasting three decades of philanthropic success and raising $450,000 for the cause.

The Scene
Guests sipped Champagne at elegant tables draped in satin, and topped with festive centerpieces of red roses and pink hydrangeas. While attendees nibbled on gourmet delicacies such as pan-seared chicken breast infused with rosemary jus and a chocolate mousse heart-shaped dessert, Dr. Patricia Thomson, executive director of the society, praised supporters with a moving speech. Various Leukemia & Lymphoma Society awards were also presented.

The Highlights
After lunch, the event segued to the fashion show, presented by Stanley Korshak and produced by Jan Strimple. Models strutted the runway in looks from the past 30 years of fashion from 30 designers, plus donned haute spring styles ranging from handkerchief skirts and dresses flowing under fitted tops to eveningwear and elegant black cocktail dresses. –Photography by Dana Driensky and Daniel Driensky
