Happy Faces

| June 25, 2012 | Parties

THE SEEN From the elevated DJ perch, presided over by tune-master Jeff Mitchell, to the Foto Favor photo booth (complete with plenty of pose-worthy props) and the 100-foot runway, where contemporary designer Joy Cioci’s cool-girl exits would later come out to play, Park Place Motorcars Dallas looked precious little like a car dealership during Modern Luxury Dallas’ Fresh Faces of Fashion Reveal Party—save for the two sets of wheels (all-new 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL 550 models), masked in cerulean and lime silk chiffon for their big unveiling later in the evening. A flurry of more than 500 celebrated our sixth year of the smash-hit program, sponsored by Park Place and Stanley Korshak, benefiting the Suicide & Crisis Center of North Texas. THE HEARD The sea of the sartorially impressive halted their mixing and mingling—for a few seconds, at least—and sidled up to a Lucite cocktail table, dressed in Shane Walker Floral’s lilac-hued designs, for a few big announcements, including the oh-so-lucky raffle winner of a new Mercedes: Vy Tran. And Katydid Collection’s Katy Messersmith scored the prize for the most raffle tickets sold among this year’s Fresh Faces group with an incredible tally of 205. THE SAVORED Aside from the delicious fashion, that is… we spied a Southwest-inspired elote bar, watermelon gazpacho shots, sweet-and-sour sesame noodles and sweet-and-spicy fried chicken sliders with housemade pickles. Wendy Krispin Caterer had treats at every turn, many of which were enjoyed alongside an icy Stella Artois. And we weren’t the only ones celebrating. Wendy was coincidentally toasting her 20th anniversary in the biz the very same night. PRIMP AND PROPER Style—oh, and shiny rides—had their day. But more prettiness beckoned in the Fresh Faces beauty lounge, where Lash Studio focused on those baby blues and Biosanes brought in their good-for-you magic cookies and William Levy—well, his remarkably lifelike cardboard cutout, snagged from a photo taken during the brand’s appearance at a Dancing with the Stars backstage gifting suite. Green tea hibiscus and grapefruit basil snow cones, spiked with Cinco Vodka, were another fave. So, too, was the Medicis area, where guests in search of the perfect pout puckered up for beauty expert Mickey Williams’ party-ready makeup tips and discovered what their lips really say via legendary lipsologist Jilly Eddy’s readings.
