Before Allison Mitchell set off for New York to grow her eponymous handbag label, she was a Dallas native who DIY’ed her first bag at JOANN. Now, after making a name for herself with her texturally and colorfully unique bags and winning Fashion Group International’s Rising Star Award for Accessories, Mitchell has returned home.
But don’t expect a local storefront anytime soon. Mitchell has brought her store to the virtual world through her website. Upon entering the site, shoppers are greeted with an HD 360-degree virtual storefront displaying her swoonworthy collections as well as a few new pieces launched solely for the website. This revolutionary shopping experience was created by N.Y.-based brand Obsess, and Michell drew inspiration from Le Bon Marché in Paris as well as incorporating signature brand touches like a large fur rug referencing her first collection, and bright colors throughout. Unlike typical white grid-form shopping websites, the site is an extension of her brand, a unique, curated space that conveys the essence of Allison Mitchell handbags.
