The Party
Dan Rodriguez and Joseph Steffen have developed quite the reputation around town—as the ultimate party planners. And when it came to feting their Feathered Affinities installation at The Joule Hotel’s Traffic LA men’s store, no detail was left to fate.
The Scene
Decked in Prada stars (Steffen) and a top hat of their own design (in Rodriguez’s case), the creative duo showcased a collection of leather fringed necklaces, key chains, fascinators, masks and more, all with a prevalent feathers- and-stars theme. In the windows, models preened, showing off hundreds of hand-dyed red, white and blue feathers. Even the flowers took on the Americana theme—the men of honor were very particular with florist JB Parks. The blue-dyed roses, grown in Holland, had to be injected with color while the rose was growing to get such a vibrant hue. Now that’s attention to detail.
The Highlights
Guests such as Rob Daily, Michael Flores, Michael and Sara Moldovan, Shelle Sills, and Susie Straubmueller also enjoyed tunes by DJ Gina Garza, gentleman’s Long Island iced teas, lobster corn dogs, pistachio marshmallow macaroons and pre-fall collections from DSquared, Balmain, Isabel Marant, Vivienne Westwood and more. –Photography by Daniel Driensky
