The urban dictionary defines “upcycling” as “using ordinary objects to make something extraordinary.” This is the mantra of BOTTLETOP, a British sustainable luxury brand that has opened a pop-up shop in Northpark Center. Each item in the shop is made from upcycled material (even the store’s sofa, display table, and immersive 3D printed sculpture) or sustainable leather. The store’s co-founder, Oliver Wayman, says, “From the outset, our ambition with BOTTLETOP was to create a positive environment that nurtures and supports local communities. We also wanted to show that you could use humble waste materials and innovative production techniques to create luxurious fashion accessories on a par with some of the world’s biggest brands.” The brand is a favorite of the likes of Jessica Alba and Emma Watson, the latter who wore a clutch by BOTTLETOP named after her on the red carpet. Stop by this innovative concept store before it leaves on December 31 for luxury bags, belts, bracelets, and more, all made from certified zero deforestation leather and the brand’s signature knitted “fabrics” made from upcycled aluminum pull tabs to upcycle your ordinary shopping adventure into something extraordinary.
