Legendary entrepreneur, community leader and realty royal Ebby Halliday just turned 100 and she blew out the candles in style as the special honoree of the event, hosted at the Hilton Anatole. “I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t love Ebby,” announced Roger Staubach, who escorted her into the ballroom. Indeed, more than 500 friends gathered to toast Halliday (and snap a pic with her on the red carpet), including Ross Perot, T. Boone Pickens and Gene Jones. A number of surprise performances were the icing on the cake, including the top hat-wearing “Ebby Halliday Centennial All Male Review,” with Perot, The Honorable Pete Sessions, Denny Carreker, Kenneth Cooper and Jim Keyes, among others. Some of Halliday’s all-time favorite acts also took center stage, such as the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, who performed a spirited dance number, and Tony Orlando, who belted out several serenades like Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree. A total of $640,000 was raised for FFB-funded research.
