What are you most looking forward to with this new role and being a part of team Perot?
Joining the incredible Perot Museum team is the culmination of the various threads of my career. I am working alongside our dedicated staff to amplify our impact and extend our educational initiatives beyond the Museum’s walls. I am excited to elevate our mission of inspiring minds through nature and science for people of all ages and from all walks of life.
What tools from your previous position have you brought to this new role?
After leading The Dallas Foundation as its Chief Impact Officer, I joined the Perot Museum. I previously served the Dallas Regional Chamber as its Senior Vice President of Education & Workforce. These experiences, combined with my background as a business executive and entrepreneur, have equipped me with a strong history of developing innovative, collaborative solutions for the betterment of our community.
What excites you most about the future of STEM education?
The Perot Museum is shaping the future of North Texas by invigorating interest and excitement within the diverse STEM workforce of the next generation. Our education programs spark the awe and wonder of students toward an interest in STEM. From hosting field trips showcasing our interactive exhibits to engaging communities through our innovative TECH Trucks and campus outreach, we strive for the Perot Museum to continue creating equitable access to STEM for all.
What initiatives are you eager to propel forward at the museum?
We are eager to begin the renovation of the Moody Family Children’s Museum in 2025, elevating the experience for our space dedicated to our youngest learners (children up to eight years old). The Children’s Museum is a great place to introduce young minds to the wonders of STEM and creativity. The renovations will begin in January and will be completed by Memorial Day.
When you’re not working, you are…
Hanging out with my family or serving my community. My wife and I have three children attending Dallas ISD schools - a senior at the School for Business & Management, a sophomore at the School for the Talented and Gifted, and a 4th grader at Sudie Williams TAG Academy. Between them, my job, my work with Dallas ISD as Chair of the 2020 Bond Advisory Committee, and my board service with a litany of nonprofits (Impact Ventures, Better Block, and Groundwork DFW, to name just 3), there isn’t much time that I’m not working!
