Dragon Ball

| June 25, 2012 | Parties

She’s starred in such hits as Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives, but at Dallas Summer Musicals’ Curtain Call benefit gala, featured entertainer Vanessa Williams left the scheming and spoiled Wilhelmina and Renee behind—and shined brightly as herself. She gave a sultry and soulful performance, singing faves like “Colors of the Wind” and a “Save the Best for Last” encore, natch. Themed “Honor the Children in the Year of the Dragon” and co-chaired by Sandy and Steve Watson with honorary chair Ellen Terry, the Modern Luxury Dallas-sponsored evening brought in plenty of vibrant props from Broadway hit, Flower Drum Song, and a Chinese dragon costume, transforming The Music Hall at Fair Park into quite the festive digs.
