The Wining “Beautiful, warm, delicious, fun, energetic and happy”—co-chair Jacquelin Sewell Taylor used a lively string of adjectives to describe the 47th annual TACA RBC Wealth Management Custom Auction Gala. And she was right. A sold-out symphony of more than 325 black-tie guests clinked cocktails with her and fellow co-chairs Phillip Taylor and Nicholas Even during a brilliant evening at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, all in support of the performing arts in North Texas. The DiningThe Mansion’s Executive Chef Bruno Davaillon delivered an inspired spread to go with that wine, with seared lamb loin carpaccio with harissa and mint and wild striped bass on artichoke composition with basil gribiche. But Pastry Chef Nicolas Blouin made everyone want dessert first with the likes of verrine exotic, pecan coffee opera and a super-sophisticated peanut butter and jelly cake. The Bidding The live auction was quite the show with highlights that included a wine country excursion, a Grammy Awards weekend and our fave, a trip to NYC for fall 2013 Fashion Week with Neiman Marcus Fashion Director Ken Downing, plus a backstage pass to the Jason Wu show. Unsurprisingly, with such one-of-a-kind packages, it was a record-breaking bid fest. Photography by Dana Driensky
