Design Maven Daniel Mofor Shares His Muse Behind Don Morphy Privé Clothiers

Daniel Mofor’s boys are only 6 and 8 years old, but they love to dress up in suits. They get that from their dad, both literally and figuratively. Mofor is the entrepreneur behind Don Morphy Privé Clothiers, the bespoke men’s collection that clinched 2019 Rising Star Awards from Fashion Group International in New York and FGI Dallas. Don Morphy specializes in custom suits and shirting measured in Dallas (at Mofor’s Design District studio or in your home or office) and sewn in Italy with fabrics from mills like Loro Piana, Reda and Thomas Mason. Mofor studied the trade for three years before his launch, but he’s always had a knack for style. “[When I was] growing up back in Cameroon, my dad used to wear suits all the time, so I wanted to be like him,” he says. “In middle school and high school I wanted to be the best-dressed in class and at all the parties. It’s something I’ve loved all my life. It’s my passion.” The former Walmart software engineer loves color: He’s big on blue as a year-round wardrobe base because it goes “with anything”—greens this summer and burgundy for fall. “Our line is all about blending different colors or having a pop of color.” Suits from $1,250, donmorphy.com
