As a principal at Leatherology, the leather accessories business he runs with his sister, 32-year-old David Liu spends much of his life jetting off to far-flung locales in search of inspiration for product development. For that reason, when it comes to grooming, Liu has conceived an unfussy routine that’s conducive to a constantly shifting lifestyle. “Those long hauls are pretty brutal,” he says, “and I think that’s what has informed my grooming habits over the last couple of years.” So whether he’s at home in Dallas or in a hotel room in London, New York or Tokyo, Liu keeps it simple with products that are few but mighty.
HAIR “The barbers at Brass Tacks are always extremely personable. It’s a nice, low-key environment. It reminds me of the barber shops I went to when I lived in London.”
INDOOR CYCLING “I try every week or so to take a SoulCycle class, which thankfully opened up here, because when I lived in New York, I went there pretty religiously.”
RUNNING TRAIL “I live really close to Katy Trail, which I absolutely love. It’s amazing being a block away from a [2-mile-long] trail because I love running.”
NAILS “I get a manicure and pedicure every two to three weeks at The Nail Spa in Oak Lawn. I like it for its convenience and simplicity.”
