FASHIONABLE MOVES The fluffy and frilly clouds of tulle (preferably in some pink variation) of the ubiquitous dance tutu may have been rather absent at Texas Ballet Theater’s Tutu Chic Luncheon and Fashion Show at the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House. But for good reason: The lithe talents of TBT moonlighted as runway models for the event, spinning down the catwalk and exchanging their traditional costumed attire for look-at-me ensembles from Stanley Korshak, with a special segment featuring Naeem Khan’s lovely confections. THE FRONT ROW Co-chairs Kristi Hoyl, Daffan Nettle, Paige Slates and Alicia Wood, along with honorary chair Nancy Carlson, joined guests on the Winspear stage to study the stylish action. Khan’s exits were not only über-decadent, they withstood a bit of sport, too, as the dancers didn’t leave the runway without a few pirouettes, pliés and mini-pas de deux, as choreographed by Tim O’Keefe. THE FINALE Raffle winner announced (the lucky recipient scored a cocktail frock from Naeem Khan and two tickets to New York Fashion Week) and luncheon cleared, many of the guests, inspired by the chic exits of the day, decamped to Korshak for a bit of retail action.
