NFTs have truly taken over in every market. From film franchises to fashion houses and even liquor distilleries, everyone is getting in on the digital ownership trend—including The Dalmore Whisky.
The Scottish distillery is set to release a four-piece collection that spans four decades of spirits, valued at $137,700, by auction on the BlockBar blockchain platform. The Dalmore Decades No. 4 Collection is one of only 25 sets containing four whiskies from the 1970s to 2000, all of which were hand-selected from a single malt by Master Distiller Richard Paterson.
This announcement follows the sale of The Dalmore Decades No. 6 Collection in October of 2021, which sold for a record HK $8.75 Million ($1.1 Million USD) at Sotheby’s Hong Kong. This price broke the record for a whiskey lot sold at Sotheby’s so far this year and the record for any whiskey lot ever sold by Sotheby’s in Asia.

“We’re delighted to be a part of this momentous occasion for Dalmore, as their first NFT launch partner,” CEO of BlockBar Dov Falic says in a press release. “Through transparency, authenticity and quality assurance, BlockBar is able to bring a solution to the current hurdles in the luxury spirits market, and we’re excited to partner with The Dalmore to make that happen.”
The lucky winner of the Dalmore Decades No. 4 Collection will own one of The Dalmore’s oldest whiskies and its first created in the new millennium. Each decanter in the collection is engraved with an exclusive set number and is housed in individual compartments within the display pedestal engraved with each whiskey’s unique story. The winner will also receive the opportunity to visit The Dalmore distillery set in the Scottish Highlands for a rare whiskey tasting followed by a decadent dinner.
“The Dalmore offers some of Scotland’s most rare and precious whiskey stocks, remarkable in their desirability to collectors, investors, and drinkers alike,” says Gerry Tosh, The Dalmore's Private Client Director. “The Dalmore Decades selection is a truly outstanding example of this, and with the landmark auction of The Dalmore Decades No. 6 Collection last month setting new records, the No. 4 Collection offered as an exclusive NFT signifies a fantastic opportunity for the crypto-curious to explore single malt whisky as an investment.”
The auction begins Tuesday, Dec. 7, using a lottery mechanic. Prospective buyers with at least one ETH in their metamask wallet may enter a lobby 30 minutes ahead of the drop. The set may be purchased with USD via credit card or with Ethereum (ETH). Learn more at blockbar.com.
