What are you most looking forward to about for this year‘s fair? A favorite part of the fair is seeing it all come to life...Our exhibitors come from all around the country and worldwide, and it’s very exciting to see how these artists and gallerists come together and transform the space. We have quite a few newcomers this year, which I’m looking forward to, including Sow & Tailor, who will present a moving selection of works by artist Sabrina Piersol.
Anna Kunz, “Beacon Over Overpass” (2024 acrylic on canvas) 53 by 48 inches, at Alexander Berggruen Gallery.
Is there any new gallery/artist showcasing that you are particularly excited about? I am excited to have the deli gallery join the fair and showcase Sergio Miguel. The figures in his paintings are so hypnotic and captivating-- I’m excited to see how people will respond to them!
Paul Kremer, “Mother 01” (2023 acrylic on canvas) 58 by 66 inches, at Berggruen Gallery.
What have you noticed about Dallas collectors throughout the years? Dallasites are tastemakers. They have a sophisticated eye, and fortunately for us, the number of collectors keeps growing. People are committed to learning and developing relationships with galleries and artists.
Is there anything new in terms of programming? This year, we have a robust program, including an amazing talk with Komal Shah at the Nasher. A beautiful sculpture program will be installed in the Henry C. Beck Jr Park, and the Eyeboretum will be returning!
Sabrina Piersol, “Freia Fain” (2023, oil on canvas) 72 by 59 inches, at Sow & Tailor Gallery.
For the first-time patron, do you have any advice? Wear comfortable shoes and enjoy Champagne Lallier! Take notes so you can recall important information.
