ABBEY ROAD REDUX “Those who have been here before know this is THE most fun you will have at a gala!” gushed Janie Condon, who co-chaired the 2011 BeatLeukemia Ball, presented by McGladrey and benefiting Leukemia Texas Research & Patient Aid, with cousin-in-law Kim Miller. Indeed it was quite the British invasion during the ninth annual event starring the spectacular musical production that is The Fab Four: The Ultimate Tribute to The Beatles. More than 650 guests in their best “Sgt. Pepper chic” attire (or black-tie for the slightly less adventurous) flocked to the Hilton Anatole’s Chantilly Ballroom ready to trip along to their favorite hits. ALBUM ENVY Everyone has a favorite. From “Let It Be” and “Hey Jude” to “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds,” “Imagine” and the list goes on and on, The Fab Four brilliantly resurrected the refrains during their dynamic show, forcing even the most sing-along shy to join Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club, link up with the “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da” conga line and surrender to the timeless lyrics. Forget dessert, the Las Vegas headliners, nearly dead ringers for the legendary group, were easily the night’s best, calorie-free treat.
