Explore unique wineries in and around the city to learn the ins and outs of winemaking and sourcing from the region’s passionate experts. Reserve a tour for you and your wine-loving crew, or simply sample the winery through an assortment of flights. We’ve rounded up the 11 best wineries to visit near Dallas.
704 West Main St., Ovilla / Website
Using grapes grown from Cassaro’s expansive vineyards, located just outside of Ovilla, try reds and whites produced entirely in Texas. The winery prides itself on growing unique grapes that are typically only found in Spain, Italy and Portugal, the Tempranillo and Albarino grapes. Take a tour of the facilities or embark on a tasting of wines at the brand’s Tuscan-inspired winery and tasting room. Reservations can be made here, Open from Thursday to Sunday.
2000 Champagne Blvd., Grapevine / Website
Visit the “largest vineyard in North Texas,” and explore the grand grounds of Delaney Vineyards. Founder Jerry Delaney is a Texas native and prides himself on completing the full wine-making process entirely in Texas. The property has gorgeous verdant grounds, great for pictures and exploring. Open Tuesday to Thursday by appointment.
4910 Eden Hill Lane, Celina / Website
Tour and taste at this luxe vineyard and winery estate. When touring the vineyards, guests get a tour of the full vineyard, a tour of the winery’s barrels, and a wine flight of five wines paired with a charcuterie board. Spend the day at Lost Oak Winery exploring winding walking paths and oak trees, jamming out to live music, embarking on vineyard and barrel tours, and, of course, tasting a variety of wines. Tastings are laid back and allow guests to relax and enjoy their wines outside on the winery’s lawn, covered patio, or within the tasting room. Pair your wines with a charcuterie board, or explore the winery’s full menu which even includes a special kids menu. Tickets for tours and guided tastings can be purchased here. Closed on Mondays.

Come for the day or stay for the weekend at the grand Kiepersol resort. With an on-site bed and breakfast, and a large variety of tours, tastings, and themed events occurring daily, any wine lover will enjoy exploring Kiepersol. The vineyard boasts growing 16 varieties of grapes on the property, allowing the winery to blend unique flavors. All of the brand’s wines are available for purchase online and at the winery. This popular, well-regarded winery produces over 90 wines grown and produced exclusively in Texas. The tasting room is open every day and features a wine bar featuring wine-on-tap, wine flights, reserve wines, and tasty small plates. Tours of the grounds are held on Fridays and Saturdays and tickets can be purchased here.

Visit this laid-back winery to sample flights of reds and whites from the brand, as well as wines from other local wineries. Pair your wines with a flatbread, charcuterie, or dessert spread, all available from the in-house chef. Closed on Mondays.

BarnHill Vineyards offers 2,500 Texas varietals along with stunning views of the countryside. Be sure to purchase tickets for their live music events on the weekends, featuring s’mores, food trucks and open fire.

Enjoy an extensive collection of white, rosé and red wines at 4R Ranch’s Wind Shed Tasting Room, which boasts 270-degree views of the Red River Valley. Visitors can even go mountain biking on this 1,132-acre ranch.

Located in the historic Brock family farmhouse, Cross Timbers offers wine tastings (four 1-oz tastings for $11!), wine by the glass and wine by the bottle. Host your next corporate party or birthday celebration on their spacious property.

This winery is extra unique, as it’s situated on the original airport and home to Barnstormers from the 1920s through 1950s. Along with your wine tasting, enjoy a guided educational session or beautifully crafted charcuterie board.
