From larger-than-life topiaries to lakeside sunsets, these four Dallas locales are the perfect spots to appreciate nature.
Snap an Insta-worthy pic under the arches at Klyde Warren Park.
1. Klyde Warren Park
If exercise is your favorite outdoor activity, then join friends at the park for barre ballet, African dance, Pilates in the park or jungle yoga flow for Earth Day. Not in the mood to move? Bring a book and find a sunny spot to soak up the 5 acres of oasislike green space, or maybe grab some drinks and eats from beloved Tex-Mex institution Mi Cocina. 2012 Woodall Rodgers Freeway, klydewarrenpark.org

2. Katy Trail
Built on an old railroad track, community-supported Katy Trail has quickly become an iconic and lovable destination for Dallas natives. The 3.5-mile wooded trail is lined with tall arching trees and blooming bushes and is the perfect spot for a run, bike or a simple stroll to enjoy the scenery. katytraildallas.org
3. Dallas Arboretum
Celebrate Earth Day early this year with Dallas Blooms: Birds in Paradise, a Southwestern floral spectacular presenting an explosion of color, featuring 100 varieties of spring bulbs, 500,000 spring-blooming blossoms, thousands of azaleas, hundreds of Japanese cherry trees and four larger-than-life peacock topiaries through April 10. For actual Earth Day, join the North Texas Master Gardeners and Dallas Arboretum Horticulture staff for a special presentation: Gardening With Native Plants, where you’ll learn how to grow an attractive, sustainable garden in honor of Mother Earth. 8525 Garland Road, dallasarboretum.org

4. White Rock Lake
Nothing says Earth Day like cleaning up Mother Nature— join nonprofit organization For the Love of the Lake every second Saturday of the month for shoreline litter cleanup at White Rock Lake Park. Take in the stunning view while volunteering, and when you’re done enjoy the sunset and almost 2,000 acres of hiking and biking trails, Blackland prairie, picnic areas and, of course, the shimmering lake. dallasparks.org
