Best of Dallas: Health & Beauty

The Editors with Rob Brinkley | December 27, 2016 | Feature Features

These are the people and businesses that made our city an exciting vibrant place to live. If this was last year, we can't wait to see what's in store for 2017.
BEAUTY QUEEN Dr. Vinita Schroeder is known for her signature natural touch at her skincare practice in Preston Hollow.

Perhaps this is the place that could lure Tom Ford back to Botox. (“I’ve decided to age,” he told WWD, saying he had no more time for the forehead fixer after the birth of his son, who is now 4.) He’d be in good company: Dr. Vinita Schroeder is already seeing a steady stream of Dallas movers and shakers of all sexes—we’ll never tell—at her new Park Cities Skin Care. The doctor, already a specialist in allergic and dermatological diseases, blends her thorough Texas education and experience with anti-aging procedures learned in France from mesotherapy leader Dr. Maurice Dray. (Beauty is her thing: “I have a creative side that I love to satisfy through fashion, art and aesthetics,” Schroeder says. “And I am a makeup junkie, always looking at the latest trends.”)
Schroeder and aesthetician Cassy Snetzer espouse rejuvenation and maintenance here. Among the many services? A special laser for skin resurfacing and tightening in just one pass. Viora treatments for firming and body contouring. Kybella injections that can draw up that double chin you just noticed in your holiday photos. There are custom chemical peels, dermal fillers, vitamin B12 injections and, yes, Botox. The latter, which famously relaxes facial muscles for a less wrinkled look, and a laser treatment called IPL (intense pulsed light) are the two most popular services here. Schroeder calls the IPL laser “the single best anti-aging treatment available,” citing its ability to improve pigmentation and texture, and stimulate collagen production. She likes things natural. “My approach to treating lines, wrinkles and volume loss is looking at the face in a holistic way, to achieve symmetry,” she says. “I love improving facial proportions.” In other words, Schroeder wants you looking freshened, not photoshopped. 8100 Lomo Alto Drive, Ste. 201, 214.559.0406
