Art Smart

| April 4, 2013 | Parties National

THE SETTING TACA and the Dallas performing arts community joined forces once again to host their annual luncheon, this year honoring Peggy Sewell and Roger Nanney. THE SCENE Past honorees and guests joined event chairs Jan Showers and Sharon Young at the Hilton Anatole for a very entertaining lunch featuring sassy speaker Lee Cullum of KERA. With a little tongue-in-cheek humor about a certain ongoing Arts District imbroglio, Cullum had the crowd in stitches. Followed up by thanks from the two Silver Cup honorees, whose families smiled proudly from the audience, it made for a lovely lunch. Made all the lovelier with a performance by 2013 Neiman Marcus Performing Arts Scholar at SMU, Eleanor Dunbar, whose performance rendered the ballroom silent. THE CROWD There to recognize the two community leaders where a host of attendees, including Mayor Mike Rawlings, Kelli and Gerald Ford, Dr. R. Gerald Turner, Deedie Rose, Elaine Agather, Julie and Ed Hawes, Lynn McBee and more. And despite the chilly temps, you’d better believe this artcentric crowd was a sea of bright shades and pretty florals—spring is in the air! Photography by Dana Driensky and Daniel Driensky
