Thanks to chairs Ann and Lee Hobson, this years Art Ball gala raised more than $1.3 million in net revenue for the Dallas Museum of Art, with a whopping $460,000 coming from the live auction alone, making it the largest grossing live auction in Art Ball’s 52-year history. We can’t help but think that the Hobsons addition to the auction—a weeklong stay at their sprawling chateau in the French countryside—had a lot to do with those impressive auction numbers...after all, it did sell twice.
“Lee and I are thrilled to have been a part of Art Ball 2017, not only because of our personal appreciation for the arts, but because it is an event that benefits and positively impacts our community on such a large scale,” shared Ann Hobson in a press release this morning. “The Museum’s commitment to education is something we’re exceedingly proud to support, and I’m honored to have had the opportunity to work with such talented and generous individuals, including our Live Auction Chairs Merry Vose and Rajan Patel, to make this year’s gala such a remarkable success.”
