The charming city of Mendoza, one of the Great Wine Capitals world renowned for its Malbec, with its tree-lined boulevards, art deco architecture, stately parks, and world-class restaurants is a great base from which to explore the rest of the province.
In early March, Mendoza hosts the Fiesta de la Vendimia, the National Wine Harvest Festival, ranked one of the world’s top 10 harvest festivals by National Geographic, and held as a tribute to grape harvest workers.

The Atuel Canyon is a popular location for its wide range of adventure sports, including river rafting, tubing, hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. The province also has eight reservoirs that are popular locations for a variety of water sports including kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, wind sailing, water skiing, and sports fishing.
About 210 miles from the city of Mendoza, Las Leñas, one of Argentina’s best known ski resorts sitting at over 11,200 feet altitude, also offers a wide range of summer sports activities that include horseback riding, mountain biking, trekking, 4x4 off-road adventures, zip lining, climbing, and rappelling.

Aconcagua Provincial Park, home to Mount Aconcagua, the tallest peak of the Andean range, and the second highest after the Himalayas, is easily accessible from the city of Mendoza. The park has numerous hiking trails of varying difficulty and length offering great panoramas of the majestic peaks.
