This family taps interior designer Andrea Smith to tailor-make their dream home.
Interior designer Andrea Smith enlisted Sherwin Williams paint throughout the home.
“The goal was to create a completely relaxing retreat for their family and friends to gather and where memories can be made,” shares interior designer Andrea Smith, who this Highland Park family enlisted to help create the ultimate renovation on Euclid Avenue. “As well as designing a home that is not only functional for everyday family use but also will be a place where they can proudly entertain large groups.”
The Mediterranean-style home marries the perfect mixture of form and function, featuring custom cabinetry from Eggersmann to help create a modernized manse that meets the homeowners’ dreams. State-of-the-art features including Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, a Miele built-in coffee machine, and LED lighting, are just a few standouts that summon. “A top priority for the homeowners was to remove all the dark and heavy finishes of the past to create a fresh, bright new space that is warm and inviting,” notes Smith. “Combining beautiful lightly stained wood and warm white full-height cabinetry allowed us to maximize storage but still visually feel more open and minimal. We removed the heavy cabinets around the range to create more open counters and installed beautiful full-height slabs and a custom metal hood to add glamour for those nights of entertaining.” Speaking of entertaining, how can you not be seen as a host with the most with a set-up such as theirs? The space is optimal for hosting, from the sky-high ceiling to compliment the open and airy concept to the chic finishing touches that abound. Not to mention, the out-of-sight, out-of-mind bar–offers a secret little reveal for visitors to enjoy. “The bar is a unique space we designed that is an elegant nighttime entertaining space that gives guests something to talk about but remains undercover during the day when not in use,” shares Smith. “While keeping a smaller footprint, the well-engineered, bi-fold pocket doors conceal the bar by day and seamlessly open up for a party or an evening cocktail.” Talk about the perfect party trick.
Normann Copenhagen’s bell suspension lamps create optimal lighting in the kitchen.
The home features adjoining his-and-hers closets offering Eggersman’s custom-designed storage features and LED lighting in the glass shelves; the primary bathroom features Porcelanosa tile.
To achieve the out-of-sight, out-of-mind bar, Eggersmann Dallas designer Gabriel Espinoza used Eggersmann’s custom hidden solution bi-fold doors finished in a 3-dimensional tamboured vertical grain.
