AMLI Fountain Place, the 45-story luxury high-rise apartment building in the Dallas Arts District, opened in late summer 2020, completing Harry Cobb of then-I.M. Pei & Associates’ original 30-year-old vision for two Fountain Place towers. This new for-rent high-rise residential building that sits at the edge of the Dallas Arts District was designed as an immersive art living experience. AMLI Fountain Place brings the creativity and culture of the Arts District into the building’s interior and is reflected in each design element.

Beginning with the exterior, the recently renovated Fountain Place plaza surrounds the residential tower, and includes a terraced water garden with cascading fountains and green space designed by esteemed landscape architect Dan Kiley. The building’s orientation, geometric angles, and glass mirror the aesthetic of the original tower and avoid reflecting direct light while directing views away from the office tower.

The interior living spaces continue the state-of-the-art design elements, bridging luxurious amenities with exceptional home living. Highlighting AMLI Fountain Place’s “Live in Art” vision, the building’s art program features installations and commissions that were curated to feature a mix of international, national, and locally recognized artists in all public spaces. Each personal residence features contemporary European-style Italian-made custom cabinets and closet shelving; designer lighting with pendant, under-cabinet, and recessed lights; and floor-to-ceiling glass windows in each home that give unfettered views of the city. The 12 penthouses span the top residential floors and feature unique sloped glass ceilings. Each penthouse boasts a 36” Thermador range with griddle, built-in microwave drawer, and wine refrigerator. Penthouse residents get access to locally sourced Revitalize Bar, featuring choice beverages and organic produce; VIP tickets to seasonal attractions and curated events for residents and guests; complimentary weekly poolside cabana access; and monthly 10th Floor Lounge reservations and first-round cocktails at Level 1 Bar.

With the expectation that living spaces are expected to do more--it is where we now work, sleep, eat, and play--AMLI Fountain Place gives residents all they need without having to leave and within an inspirational and vibrant setting. The building amenities span three levels including a Level 45 Sky Lounge with unencumbered views of downtown, Trinity River, and the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge; a resident lounge with bar, media room, and dining area; a lobby-level coffee shop; fitness center featuring on-demand fitness studio; a world-class GOLFZON golf simulator; and a maker space for residents that provides space to create art, tackle DIY projects, and take DIY courses like ‘how to create your own terrarium.’ The co-working space features conference rooms, generous open lounge seating, and private, enclosed personal work areas providing a variety of work-from-home options. AMLI Fountain Place residents also have access to the open-air sun deck, heated resort-style pool, and private by-reservation poolside cabanas as well as outdoor fireplace and dining areas with grills.

AMLI Fountain Place, designed by acclaimed architect Talmadge Smith of Page, brings to life the 30-year-old vision of architect Harry Cobb as a modern residential sibling to the original Fountain Place. And the design of its interior spaces, led by Wendy Dunnam Tita of Page, evokes a rich, hospitality-inspired experience and delivers on AMLI’s “Live in Art” vision.
