When did you first find your love for acting? As I get further into this game of life, I realize that my love for escaping and creating started at a super young age. I would constantly draw or create these elaborate pretend worlds with my action figures. I’m fortunate that I stumbled into a career that gave me the ability to make my ‘pretend worlds’ come to life.
Tell us more about Army of the Dead that just hit the screen. My character, Burt Cummings, is a stew of all the personality traits a human hopes not to have. What can I tell you about AOTD? Oh boy. The scale and extravagance of the world Zack [Snyder] has set up is unlike anything you have seen in the zombie genre. AOTD is a visual buffet of chaotic beauty.
Party trick? Leaving any place in a ghostlike fashion. I’m not big on goodbyes, so I usually just disappear.
I believe you just wrapped filming on True Story, where you star opposite Kevin Hart. What can we expect from this crew? A story that will bend your reality for a beat. It’s a ride of emotions in a behind-the-scenes world that feels familiar.
What’s next for you? I’m excited for all the projects we have coming out these next few months. Off-screen, me and the family are deep into building our dream ranch in the Austin area. I’m so happy our two young sons are going to grow up completely tied into nature, and of course in the beauty of Texas.
